Maternal health refers to the health of women during pregnancy, childbirth and the postpartum period. While motherhood is often a positive and fulfilling experience, for too many women it is associated with suffering, ill-health and even death.
According to Oxfam, Every year over half a million women die in developing countries from complications during pregnancy and childbirth. But most of these deaths could be prevented by improving maternal health care.
The Foundation has made Newborn and Child Health care one of it's biggest mission in Uganda. We look at this in two parts; the first one being care during birth and the second part being the child's early years.
The importance of why the first 24 hours of a newborn's life are very key for it to live a healthy lifestyle especially in underprivileged communities. We cant state how vulnerable a newly born is in the first 24 hours hence the importance for them to be brought into this world in a hygienic environment with the best healthcare available to their mothers.

Together we can help care for the underprivileged in our community.
