Mulago National Referral Hospital, commonly known as Mulago Hospital, is the largest hospital in Uganda and the teaching hospital of the Makerere University College of Health Sciences. "Mulago was derived from the Ganda word 'omulago', a type of medicine." The hospital is located on Mulago Hill in the northern part of the city of Kampala, immediately west of the Makerere University College of Health Sciences.
Philomena Iganga Babies Home is located in Iganga district at CMS inside St. Patrick Kigulu Girls. The home was founded by a Catholic order of Nuns called the Little Sisters of St. Francis. Its home to children between 0-5 years. Most children have been abandoned but a small percentage who end up here because they lost their mothers mostly during childbirth.
Located in the Town of Soroti in the Notheast of Uganda. Here, children, most of them HIV+, are sheltered for a shorter or longer period of time. Often they come from a background of neglection and rejection.
